The South Orange County Wastewater Authority (SOCWA) is a Joint Powers Authority with 10 member agencies and cities that provide retail water and collection system sewer services to their residents. SOCWA operates three wastewater treatment plants and two ocean outfalls. In addition, it provides multiple programs to meet the needs of its member agencies and the requirements of the Clean Water Act and applicable National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES).
The Senior Engineer position manages, supervises and coordinates activities and operations as set forth by the Director; coordinates assigned activities with other units, groups and outside agencies; and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Director.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field and possession of a current certificate of registration as a Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineer. In addition, candidates must have 10 years increasingly responsible professional engineering experience. Possession of a valid California Class “C” driver’s license in good standing is also required by the date of hire.
