SALARY RANGE: $7,775 - $10,396 Monthly
The recruitment will be flexibly staffed at the Electrician I or II level depending on experience. He or she will have a solid background in a full range of skilled electrician duties related to the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance of water, recycled water, and wastewater process equipment. The candidate will be skilled in working on and maintaining motor control centers, variable frequency drives, soft starters, electric motors, transformers, medium voltage switches, co-generation systems, standby diesel generators, lighting systems, uninterruptable power supplies, power distribution equipment; 21kV,2.4kV and 480V switchgear; and protective relaying.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a skilled electrician with a solid background in the full range of skilled electrician duties related to water, recycled water, and wastewater equipment. He/she will be skilled in working on the maintenance side of electrical work and have skills in instruction, troubleshooting, variable frequency devices (VFD)and motor controls. Attention to detail and the ability to QA their own work are important skills. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, skilled in writing work summaries utilizing a computer, and have the ability to work independently, and exercise good judgment and initiative.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
Possession and maintenance of a Class C driver's license required by the State of California, Department of Motor Vehicles, is required to perform the duties of the position.
Electrician I: Possession of a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiac Care Provider certificate and First Aid certificate is required within one (1) year of employment. Possession and maintenance of either a General Electrician Certification from the State of California or a California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Electrical/Instrumentation Grade I certification is required within one (1) year of appointment.
Electrician II: Possession of a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiac Care Provider certificate and First Aid certificate is required within one (1) year of employment. Possession and maintenance of either a General Electrician Certification from the State of California or a CWEA Electrical/Instrumentation Grade I certification is required within one (1) year of appointment. If qualifying with the CWEA Electrical/Instrumentation certification, a Grade II certification is required within (2) years of appointment.
Any combination of education, licensing and/or experience which has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the job satisfactorily may qualify the candidate for consideration.
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade and completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship program AND one (1) or year of responsible experience in maintaining, installing, and repairing a variety of electrical, electronic, and control systems for the (Electrician I level) and two (2) years for the (Electrician II level).
*Construction and panel manufacturing experience are highly desirable.
