Contra Costa Country Club is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, approximately 20 miles northeast of downtown San Francisco. In 2015, the club completed an expansive golf course renovation that included new tees, greens, and bunkers, as well as re-grassing the entire course with perennial ryegrass and bentgrass greens. The course features 86 acres of turf, as well as 16 acres of native grasses. The club is quickly approach its 100^th Anniversary in 2025 and has its eyes focused on the future.

As 2^nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, you will develop a understanding for managing a property with reclaimed water and cool season grasses in a transition zone of California. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or student still in college looking to further develop his/her agronomic, personnel, and managerial skillsets required to advance within the industry. Duties Include but not limited to:

• Manages daily putting surfaces irrigation alongside 1^st Assistant and Golf Course Superintendent.
• Supervises and assists maintenance staff in daily duties when required.
• Assists in the planning, organization and direction of the maintenance of and construction of putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
• Performs granular and foliar applications on golf course playing surfaces.
• Ensures that team members properly care for and maintain equipment.
• Assists in record keeping of maintenance activities and costs.
• Coordinates with Superintendent, 1^st Assistant and Irrigation Technicians in daily operation of Toro Lynx Irrigation System.
• Participates in administering effective orientation and training to new and current associates.

Compensation:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Pursuing or completed degree (Bachelors or AA) in Agronomy/Horticulture/Plant or Soil Science; one to three years related experience and/or training’ or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to obtain and hold a State of California Qualified Applicator Certificate within 6 months.
