The Department of Health (DOH) in Washington State aims to safeguard and enhance public health. The Office of Environmental Health & Safety (OEHS) strives to accomplish this mission by reducing human exposure to environmental hazards and disease pathogens associated with wastewater treatment, food safety, schools, and recreational facilities. The Wastewater Management Section (WWMS) ensures the safe treatment of domestic sewage in on-site systems and responsible use of reclaimed wastewater. WWMS offers support to utilities, system owners, and local health authorities.
